Im belgischen Kernkraftwerk Doel bei Antwerben ist es am Samstag zu einer Explosion und einem Feuer gekommen. Gefahr für Mitarbeiter und Bevölkerung besteht laut Betreiber nicht.

Im Kernkraftwerk Doel in der Nähe von Antwerpen ist es am Samstag zu einer Explosion gekommen. Danach ist ein Feuer ausgebrochen. Das berichtet die Aachener Zeitung. Laut einer Sprecherin der Betreibergesellschaft Electrabel habe ein Transformator Feuer gefangen. Es habe keine Gefahr für Mitarbeiter oder Bevölkerung gegeben. Der Reaktor 1 des Kraftwerks, in dem der Zwischenfall passierte, sei ohnehin abgeschaltet gewesen.

Doel liegt 180 Kilometer von Luxemburg entfernt.
